Walking might be the most natural thing in the world for most people.
So why would you give the third year pupils of Mulroy College in Milford a class in walking?
Well when the instructor is none other than Olympic walker Brendan Boyce, then it all becomes a bit clearer.
The local hero and past pupil of Mulroy gave up his time in his busy training schedule to speak with pupils about exercise, diet and his upcoming appearance at the London Olympics.
Principal Ms. Fiona Temple described Brendan as “inspirational.”
“I would like to thank Brendan for taking time out to visit the school. We all know how valuable his time is coming up to the Olympic Games.
“He was inspirational to al the students and gave of his time generously and patiently. He is a real example to all young people of how hard work can pay off.
“And, of course, he’s from Milford and Donegal,” said Ms Temple.
