One of Donegal’s best known birdmen is in a flap after losing an eagle.
Pedro Soltani from Glenties is a hugely respected falconer who has a massive aviary at the rear of his home.
Pedro cares for injured birds or prey and keeps a variety of birds including kestrels, peregrine falcons and owls.
However Pedro has now appealed for people to keep an ‘eagle’ eye out for one of his large brown eagles which has escaped from his premises.
The bird may be in the Glenties area but may have stayed further.
“It is not a homing bird so we are not hopeful it will return here. We are asking anybody who sees a large eagle-type bird to contact us,” he said.
