Rosapenna Golf Club captured the 2011/12 Gaeltacht League at the Captain’s Day in Narin & Portnoo last Saturday.
The team led by long standing captain Joe McHugh who finished top of the league table were paired with Portsalon in the play-off on the Captain’s Day.
Rosapenna finished with a total of 361 points from our 10 best cards to win by 10 clear points from Gweedore & Narin/Portnoo both on 351.
The Rosapenna team returned great scores on a tough day with a good number of birdies and John Casey holing his approach to the Par 4 9th for an eagle two.
Congratulations to Joe McHugh and all the team members who competed all winter and performed so well on the day in the play-off in Narin & Portnoo.
Rosapenna finished runners up two years ago in Portsalon.
Well done to Kevin Brogan who finished 3rd in the overall Captain’s Day with 40 pts.

The team medals will be presented to all players at the next club presentation on Saturday the 5th of May.
On Sunday the 23rd the club competition held over the Old Tom Morris Links was won by Marty McDermott 5 with 40pts bot. Runner up was Matthew Coyle 18 with 40 pts.
Good luck to the Donegal League team who take on Redcastle in a preliminary round at home this Sunday the 29th at 3.30pm. Home support is welcome.
There will be an Open Foursomes (any combination) competition this coming Saturday (28th) with the GUI Jimmy Bruen qualifying taking place the following Sunday the 6th of May at Narin & Portnoo G.C followed by the GUI Pierce Purcell qualifying in Greencastle G.C on Sunday the 13th of May.
The Bevan Cup will be played for this Sunday the 29th. The subscription assist competition will take place on Saturday the 5th of May over the Old Tom Morris Links, this competition is only open to members who have paid their golf fees in full for 2012.
The draw has been made for the 2012 Doubles Match play and is posted in the members room.
The top pair are to make contact and all first round matches must be played by Monday the 28th of May.
There is a time-sheet in strict operation at weekends and all players must book tee times for weekend play, this can be done by contacting the Pavilion Golf Shop between 8am & 4pm daily or by email golf@rosapenna.ie at any time.
All golfers are kindly asked to keep all pull trolleys, electric trolleys and drive buggies well back from the roped off putting green surrounds which have all been recently over-seeded and all teeing grounds.
The 2012 Golfer of the Year format will be the same as last year with your best six cards from closed club competitions between Sunday May 6th & Sunday September 30th inclusive counting toward your grand total.
The entry sheet is posted in the member’s room and the entry fee is 5e per player.
All entry fees must be put into a detailed envelope and into the entry fee box in the members room. The closing date for entries is Saturday the 5th May.
The 2012 subscription to the Rosapenna Golf Resort, payable in the Pavilion Golf Shop, will include membership to the Rosapenna Golf Club.
All golf fees are now due and must be paid in full by the 14th of May 2012.
These fees cover the Old Tom Morris Links (18 holes) and the Coastguard Nine (9 holes).
The concessionary member green fee applies to the Sandy Hills Links.
There will be no competition vouchers issued by the golf club this year.
PGA Professional Noel Callan is available for lessons at the Rosapenna Practice Ground by appointment, all enquires can be made by contacting Noel directly on 0044-7789-157654.
The Practice Ground is open 7 days with the ball dispenser in operation.
