There was mixed fortunes for both Senior and Reserve teams over the weekend against Naomh Mhuire at Pairc Naomh Brid. In the reserve match a second half Naomh Mhuire goal helped them to a 1-4 to 0-3 victory. Naomh Brid started the brightest and held a 0-3 to 0-1 lead at the break. Despite this lead the lads failed to register a score against a stiff breeze in the second half and Naomh Mhuire piled on the pressure to record the victory. In the senior match Naomh Brid started the brightest and held an early 2 point lead before Naomh Mhuire drew level mid way through the half. The lads took control around the middle and went in at the break 0-5 to 0-3 ahead. The boys went 0-9 to 0-4 up before Naomh Mhuire were awarded a penalty which was coolly dispatched. The defence although held strong and battled hard in the remaining minutes and the forwards tagged on two more points to give Naomh Brid the victory on a scoreline of 0-11 to 1-4. Both teams play Killybegs this Sunday in Pairc Naomh Brid at 1.30pm and 3pm. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support the lads.
Well done to the U16 boys who defeated Na Rossa on Monday evening in Glenties in the divisional league semi-final on a scoreline of 5-13 to 4-15 after extra time. It was a great team performance with Killian Burns outstanding in goals saving a Na Rossa penalty. The lads now play Naomh Columba on Monday evening in the divisional league final with a venue yet to be decided. It is important to get out and support the lads on this great occasion.
Well done to Calum Gallagher who played the whole match for the Donegal Minors in their Ulster Minor league shield semi-final against Down on Saturday last. They now face Armagh in the shield final this coming Saturday.
