A GAA club is to name its new pitch after tragic Garda Robbie McCallion.
The Letterkenny-based Garda was killed when he was struck by a car at Tara Court in March 2009.
The brave Garda was part of a team of Gardai who were trying to block two men stealing a car in the estate.
Garda McCallion was a talented footballer and played regularly for his native Swinford in Co Mayo.
Now the club is to honour the fallen Garda by naming their new pitch after him in the coming weeks.
