ATHLETE Michael Black won today’s Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge.
The fitness guru beat the 10-mile course record in a new sub-56 minute time.
More than 650 people took part in the race – a 50% increase on last year.
And once again local people opened up their homes to set up water and toilet stops for those taking part.
Even Britain’s Queen Elizabeth was there as our exclusive picture, left, shows!
A northerly wind and constant rain – as well as an incoming tide on Pollan Beach – didn’t deter those taking part.
Then it was off to the Strand Hotel for some fantastic local hospitality including some warm soups and Jazz music.
Donegaldaily.com health and fitness columnist Michael led runners into the Atlantic for a dip after the race.
And then he donated his winning cheque to Relay for Life cancer charity.
Brave stuff indeed.
