THE BITING cold of recent days is set to disappear over the Easter weekend as normal seasonal temperatures return.
There will be a lot of drizzle and showers over the weekend, so might be a time to head indoors for a swim. Waterworld Bundoran has opened its doors for the holidays (pictured).
Here’s the outlook from Met Eireann over the next few days.
TODAY (GOOD FRIDAY) will be mostly cloudy, with the best of the bright or short sunny spells in the morning. Some patches of drizzle and light rain, these mainly over Co Donegal. Top temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate northwest breezes. Tonight is expected to be rather cloudy and fairly mild with a little patchy drizzle and lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degree.
HOLY SATURDAY: For Holy Saturday there will be some bright or sunny spells, but many areas will stay cloudy. Some patchy drizzle about, especially in Donegal. Temperatures around normal for April, ranging 10 to 13 degrees, in moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. A mild cloudy night will follow to most places.
EASTER SUNDAY: The day should start dry and bright with some sunny spells – but cloud will increase all the while and some rain looks set to develop over Donegal in the early to mid afternoon. This rain will extend to all places later and overnight. Moderate westerly winds will increase fresh and gusty in the afternoon and evening also. Top temperatures will range 10 to 13 degrees.
EASTER MONDAY: It looks like being a cool, windy and quite a wet day, with heavy showers or longer spells of rain. Winds will be strong and gusty westerly.
OUTLOOK : Cool, breezy weather is expected for the following few days, with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. These winds will bring bright or sunny spells and showers, some heavy. Temperatures will be slightly below normal and some grass frost is expected at night.
