On Friday 6th April there is a three ball competition any combination, On Saturday 7th it’s a ladies and gents open competition sponsored by Mc Chormick’s Pharmacy Milford, on Easter Sunday 8th it’s a ladies and gents open and Monday it’s a Ladies and Gents open. On Wednesday 11th it’s a gents open stableford competition. The winner of the Gents Open Wednesday 28th was the inform 12 handicapper Daniel Shields with 43 points Runner Up: Michael Dunne (21) 40 points BOT Gross: Joe Coyle (8) 31 points Third: Garrett Horkan (18) 40 points Visitor: Ben McBride (23) Rosapenna 36 points. The CSS was 38 points. Winner of the Saturday open was : Keith Shiels (6) Letterkenny 37 points Runner Up: Andy Boland (13) 36 points Gross: David McGeough (6) Letterkenny 28 points Third: Brian Boyle (15) 36 points The CSS was 36 points. There was a large turnout on Sunday last for the Voucher Sunday competition and the scoring reflect the excellent conditions. The overall winner of the coveted voucher was 13 handicapper Michael Leonard playing of a 13 handicap with 42 points, runner up D P Logue (6) 41 points, Gross Pascal Cullen (5) 31 points 3rd Donal Callaghan (14) 41 points. The CSS was 37 popints
Gaeltacht League
On Saturday last Portsalon Golf Club travelled to Dunfanaghy Golf Club for the rearranged match in the Gaeltacht League. The travelling Portsalon were defeated six and half matches to three and half matches. The winning Portsalon teams were Tony Kingston & Barry Keeney, James Lynch & Donal Callaghan, Dermot Boyce & John Kelly with Paddy Sheridan and Cathal Canning getting the half match Following this result Portsalon have 66 points with one match remaining. The remaining fixture is away to Cloughaneeley which will be played on 14th April. The Gaeltacht Captain’s Day is scheduled for Sunday 21st April and this will be played at Nairn Portnoo golf course
Subscriptions
The council wish to remind all members that their fees for the 2012 golfing year are now due. An early payment would be appreciated.
Change to Drop Off arrangements
Members and visitors should note that you must drop off the fairways 2,7 and 9 at the nearest point of relief as this has now been designated ground under repair. Under a local rule all golf balls in the areas identified must be lifted and dropped without penalty. It is no longer permitted to use the putter inside the areas identified.
All members are kindly asked to keep all pull trolleys, electric trolleys and drive buggies outside the lines surrounding the putting greens. This is try to protect the main playing surfaces as much as possible over the next few weeks..
Placing
All members and visitors should note that six inch placing on all fairways only is in operation at Portsalon Golf Club.

Members and visitors please note that divot bags are now available on entry to the first tee box. Please ensure that you pick up a bag and assist with the course maintenance
