Club Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – 02.04.12
Well done to the Seniors and Reserves who made the long trek to Kilcar on Sunday and came home with full points. The Reserves had a resounding victory 2-13 to 0-06. The Seniors were trailing by 4 points half way through the second half and down to 14 men after the harsh dismissal of John Haran but a late flurry saw them come back to win by five points on a score of 2-12 to 1-10 after a very good team performance.
The Juniors had no game this weekend but expect to get into action over the Easter weekend at home against Naomh Columba. Ricky Duffy has been appointed Manager of the Juniors and he will be very ably assisted by Eunan Mac. All new players welcome to training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30pm. The Seniors and Reserves take on Naomh Conaill in the Park on Easter Monday.
The U-16 Boys Div. 1 team suffered another narrow defeat, going down by 1-6 to 1-4 to MacCumhaills. The Div. 2 team suffered another defat losing to Naomh Colmcille.
The Minor boys footballers get their campaign underway this week when they travel to Gaoth Dobhair on Good Friday with a 7pm throw-in.
Jim Clarke’s U-14 Boys will defend the Co. Féile title that led to an All-Ireland last year when they take on Aodh Rua, Ballyshannon in this week’s decider with venue and time tbc on Saturday.
The Friday Evening Hurling & Camogie Academy will get underway on April 13th at 6:30pm.
The Sunday Morning Football Academy will begin on April 15th.
Well done to Micheál Ó Giobúin and all involved in the Cultural side of the club as we picked up the non Gaeltacht Culture Award at Friday’s County Banquet.
Most teams have begun training for 2012, please stick to your allotted days and times.
This week the Club launched our “Lotto + 1” Campaign with its aim being to try and get more members / ex-pat’s / Black & Amber sympathisers signed up to the Club Lotto scheme. Members enjoy free Buses to all Official Co. competition, family membership is also included as well as 3 chances to win our weekly Lotto jackpot and also a €1,000 holiday Voucher for 1 lucky member. U16 and U18 hurling training is on every Monday at 5:30pm in O’Donnell Park. All new hurlers welcome. U14 & U16 Camogie training every Monday 6pm. Bag pack in Tesco for County Camogie on 7th April and May 5th to help pay for buses. Help wanted. Please contact Gavin if available.
All managers are reminded that they must nominate a member of their management team to Elaina with responsibility for collecting Bus money.
