A dead horse which has been dead face down in the River Swilly in Letterkenny since last Wednesday was still at the location last night.
Donegaldaily visited the scene of the incident last night to examine the scene.
The horse has a cover and also a bridal but is beginning to decay.
We first reported the story of the abandoned horse last Saturday after a member of the public contacted us to express their outrage.
The woman was out walking when she came across the horse in the river close to the Letterkenny Town Council offices.
Since we reported the story we have received a number of emails about the horse.
One woman who contacted us revealed how she reported the case to the Gardai last Wednesday.
The woman said her three year old niece had even seen the dead horse.
