TODAY will be the last of our fantastic heatwave week, says Met Eireann.
Temperatures are expected to reach around 16C today but increasing cloud is expected from the north as the day progresses.
But the good news is that although temperatures will decrease, the weekend is looking like it will remain dry, with sunny spells on Saturday and Sunday – the sort of weather we’d normally be glad to have.
Met Eireann says tonight will milder in Donegal as cloud develops here.
Some light rain and patchy drizzle will affect northern coastal areas. Lowest temperatures of 7 degrees.
There will be a good deal of dry weather on Friday, with just some drizzle or light rain along the north coasts.
However there will also be more cloudy skies than of late and it will become slightly cooler as winds become northerly. Highest temperatures on Friday of 13 degrees in Donegal.
Friday night will be mild with lowest temperatures of 6 or 7 degrees.
The largely dry weather will continue into the weekend and there will be a mixture of cloudy and sunny spells. Highest temperatures will range from 10 to 15 degrees, while it will become chilly at night with a risk of grass frost.
