DONEGAL captain Michael Murphy is almost certainly out of the clash with Armagh a week next Sunday after being told he needs more surgery.
The inspirational Glenswilly player was forced out of the clash with Dublin at Croke Park last weekend.
Now he has been told he must have knee surgery.
County manager Jim McGuinness will be hoping that Murphy will recover in time for the opening Ulster Championship clash with Cavan on May 20 when Donegal began their defence of the title.
Friends say that will be Murphy’s aim; to be fit again for that match.
“The game against Armagh on Easter Sunday is not a priority for Michael. He wants to have the surgery and get back as quickly as possible for the Cavan game,” said one.
