Sinead was chosen by the Glasgow Committee on St Patrick’s Day at the Fabulous Family Day in Merchant Square.
Sinead, 21, was born in Glasgow but Donegal is a second home for her as both her grandparents on her mother’s side are well known Donegal families.
Her grandmother’s family are McGarvey from Gaoth Dobhair and her grandfather’s family are Gallagher from Meenamara, Dungloe.
“I am excited and honoured is to represent Glasgow this year as it has always been her dream to be A Glasgow Mary,” said Sinead.
“I have known and attended the festival my whole life and I look forward to it every year but more so this year,” she said.
Sinead was presented with her Sash & Tiara on stage in front of a packed crowd of 2,500 people by Mrs Angela Medford (previous Glasgow representative) Mrs Breeda Ojo & Mr Dinny McGinley Minister of State who was involved in the Irish festival in Glasgow this year. He congratulated her and wished her a safe trip to Dungloe for the festival in July.
