Thanks:
The club completed the replacement of the ball-stops at the Scarvey grounds this weekend. Thanks to McCallion Construction for supplying the forklift, Lynch Brothers for planting the poles and Liam Kelly for delivering them. Thanks also to Fergal McLaughlin for the crane and to Tom Clare, Michael Junior McLaughlin, Simon McGrory, Carl Craig and Malachy McCann for a great job and giving up their weekend for the club. Also a special word of thanks to everyone that contributed to our ‘Scrap Saturdays’ collections that went some way to paying for the refurbishment. The club is as always committed to providing the best facilities possible to the parish. Our scrap collections are now finished, thank you.
U10 Hurling:
The Buncrana under 10 hurlers were very unlucky to lose out to Loughgiel shamrocks in the division 3 final of the north Antrim league in Coleraine on Saturday 3rd March. It was a thrilling game and the Buncrana lads did the club proud bringing the game to extra time on a 3-3 scoreline. After extra time the game finished 6-4. Buncrana was represented by Oisin Kelly who was steady in goal, Conor Cullen who was a rock-solid in defense, Gavin Deehan, Liam O’Dochartaigh, James O’Hagan, and Caolan O’Neill who battled it out in midfield and Jordan Arthur who caused havoc upfront for the Shamrocks defense.

U14 Girls Football:
Our under 14 Girls Footballers played an exciting, tight game yesterday in their first challenge game of the year against Steelstown. The young Buncrana team took the lead during the game, however in the end the experienced Steelstown team won through. It was a great disaplay of strength and determination as the Buncrana girls fought hard to keep the opposition under pressure right till the end. Sarah Barnett was captain and was a great example to the team. It is difficult to name player of match as all the girls gave it all, in what was a tight, feisty game.
