Club Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – 05.03.12
This Friday night Strictly Come Dancing takes place in the Mt. Errigal Hotel at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed. Highland Radio’s Charlie Collins will act as host on the night and Hugo & Off the Kuff will be on stage afterwards till very late! Good luck to all the contestants.
The U-16 Boys football got underway on Sunday and unfortunately both teams lost. Gaoth Dobhair took the spils in the Div. 1 game in the Park while the Div. 2 team came home empty handed from their trip to the Bridge to play St. Michael’s. The div. 1 team make the trek to Carndonagh next Sunday (11th) with the Div. 2 team at home to Cloughaneely. Both games throw-in at 12noon.
Ádh mór ar Seán Óg Ó Fiannaidhe who represent the club and county in the Ulster semi final of Scór Sinsir in Glenswilly on Friday night (March 9th) where he will be up against the Fermanagh and Tyrone solo singing champions. The competition starts at 8pm and all support will be most welcome.
As many of the hurlers and footballers as possible are asked to represent the club in RITH this Thursday. All available to run anything between one and four Kilometres are requested to be available at approx. 3.30pm. Naomh Adhamhnáin will carry the baton for One Km from Dunnes of Illistrin and it is important that club members with club colours join the run which will go right through the town. It is important that the Black & Amber is visible in the keynote event to mark Seachtain na Gaeilge.
A night of traditional music, song recitations and dancing will take place in the clubhouse on Friday 16th March to mark the St. Patricks weekend. Musicians and singers from Donegal and Tyrone will be in attendance and everyone is welcome. A good night is assured so ple
Bailiúchan na Teanga will again take place at the Cathedral at all Masses on St. Patricks Day. Please contact Fergus McGee (086-8544445) if you are available to collect at any one of the Masses.
Indoor hurling training has now finished. Training will begin outdoors just after Easter. Watch the notes for details.
There will be another Sunday Morning Registration in the Clubhouse this week (March 11th) between 11am – 1pm. All adult players must be registered before March 31st. Please help Anne by coming out and getting registered. U-10 children can register at the commencement of the Sunday Morning Academy in April, all other Minor Board players need to register asap.
We will be taking part in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade again this year, more details next week on meeting up etc.
The Minor Board Executive are meeting on Monday night before the Senior Executive meeting. Details on e-mail during the week. The Senior Board meeting is scheduled for 7pm.
