Irish soccer legend Johnny Giles has said he does not believe Donegal soccer star Seamus Coleman will be in the Irish team for this summer’s European Championships.
The former Republic of Ireland and Leeds star was highly critical of the Irish management team for not experimenting with players in last night’s friendly with the Czech Republic.
The RTE pundit said the Everton star should make the panel but that Trapatonni is set in his ways and will not change in time for Poland.
“I don’t think Coleman will get into the team for the European Championships because he is not getting a chance now.
“Coleman did not even get on the pitch. It was a good opportunity for Coleman and McClean..”I don’t think he has any intention of playing the likes of Coleman.
“It is a problem not to have enough matches. He knows what McGeady and Duff can do.
“It is important to give other players can do. He does not what Coleman or McCarthy can do,” he said.
There was also disappointment at the Aviva stadium for Shane Duffy – another player with strong Donegal connections.
The Everton player, who was born in Derry but whose dad is from Letterkenny, also failed to get a run out.
