COUNTY DONEGAL PRIMARY SCHOOLS SHA ATHLETICS FINALS: TIMETABLE AND TEAMS

On Wednesday next 29th February the Co Donegal Primary Schools Sportshall Athletics finals takes place in the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny

Six teams,all who have qualified via regions from within the county during then past few weeks, will contest four different team competitions, see attached details

SHA/Little athletics in a team format supports and involves children in the fundamentals of athletics -ie running, jumping, throwing, relays agility, balance and co-ordination. The concept supports the new PE primary schools curriculum where athletics is part of the core curriculum, and is a developmental wing in all Donegal athletics clubs.

At a local county level the Primary Schools SHA initiative has been pioneered, encouraged and supported  in partnership between Donegal Local Sports Partnership and Athletics Ireland  Regional Development officer, with the support of Donegal Co Board, local club coaches and schools and primary teachers across the county.

If you are free and in the Letterkenny area on Wednesday next please accept an invitation from Donegal Sports Partnership/Donegal Co Athletics Board to attend what promises to be a fun filled few hours of outstanding child centred team competition.

The following Teams/catagories have qualified via regional heats at various locations throughout the county in the last two weeks. The winning teams will represent Donegal in the All Ireland Primary Schools SHAsemi finals
