Drive In
On Sunday 5th in excellent weather conditions the Captains of Portsaklon Golf Club D P Logue & Noreen Mc Conigley held the traditional drive in event. The event was a team scramble which attracted a large turnout. The overall winning team consisted off Vice Captains, Deirdre Hensey and Joe Harkin with match play winner John Strain and head greenkeeper John Shields.
Portsalon Results
The winner of the Saturday open played on 11th was Phelim Feely (14) Letterkenny 36 points Runner UP: Eugene Gallagher (19) Portsalon 35 points BOT
Gross: Johnny Shields (4) Portsalon 29 points Third: Joe Logan (17) Poprtsalon 35 points The CSS was 33 points On Sunday the winner of the members competition was Seamus Patton (5) 39 points BOT , runner up Bernard Nash (17) 39 points, Gross Eamon mc Dermott (3) 33 points 3rd Eunan Mc Glynn (13) 37 points. The CSS was 37 points
Events
On Saturday 18th there is a gents open competition, please note the first tee is reserved from 9.55 to 11.30 for the Gaeltacht League and Sunday 19th a members competition. Gaeltacht League
The Gaeltacht League team travelled to Dunfanaghy on Saturday 5th last, however due to the adverse weather conditions which prevailed the match had to be abandoned after a few holes, a new date has not yet been confirmed. The match against Cloughaneeley was also cancelled due to the weather conditions. Portsalon will welcome Rosapenna Golf Club to the Banks on Saturday 18th February with the first tee reserved from 9.55 a.m to 11.30 a.m. .

Junior Golf
Portsalon Golf Club will embark on a drive to attract junior golfers to Portsalon Golf Club. The process commences on 21st with the ladies brance holding a girls Junior Golf day at Portsalon. All interested should contact the ladies council for further information
Subscriptions
The council wish to remind all members that their fees for the 2012 golfing year are now due. An early payment would be appreciated.
Change to Drop Off arrangements
Members and visitors should note that you must drop off the fairways 2,7 and 9 at the nearest point of relief as this has now been designated ground under repair. Under a local rule all golf balls in the areas identified must be lifted and dropped without penalty. It is no longer permitted to use the putter inside the areas identified.
All members are kindly asked to keep all pull trolleys, electric trolleys and drive buggies outside the lines surrounding the putting greens. This is try to protect the main playing surfaces as much as possible over the next few weeks..
Placing
All members and visitors should note that six inch placing on all fairways only is in operation at Portsalon Golf Club.

Divot Bags
Members and visitors please note that divot bags are now available on entry to the first tee box. Please ensure that you pick up a bag and assist with the course maintenance
