FRIENDS and family of murder victim Andy Allen have hit out today at his murder with one describing it as “cold-blooded execution.”
Mr Allen, described by one friend as a “devoted dad” was mercilessly murdered at a house in Buncrana last night.
At least three gunmen burst into the property at Links View, Lisfannan, and shot Mr Allen a number of times. He died at the scene around 10.30pm, less than an hour after the shooting.
“He was a decent fella who had his problems like lots of people,” said a close friend from the Top of the Hill in Derry’s Waterside.
“It would be outrageous to forget he was a dad who loved his kids so much. These dissidents should not be judge and jury.”
Another told donegaldaily.com by email: “I saw your reports and I want to say that Andy was a good guy and these scum had no right to shoot him down like a dog.
“Who do they think they are? They are a bunch of cowards.”
Another friend told us: “I’ve just found out on your website about Andy’s murder. It is disgusting. He wouldn’t hurt a fly; a great man who didn’t deserve to die. Simple.”
There has been widespread condemnation of the killing from political leaders.
