WHAT a superb weekend it was for the club winning the National Masters Cross Country Championship’s along with further success for Mark English and Darren McBrearty.
In Boyle, Co Roscommon on Sunday, Ciaran Doherty, was crowned National Masters Cross Country Champion and he led LAC to the national club title.
This was yet another super show from the Kincasslagh man.
He was followed home in second spot by the evergreen, Pauric McKinney, while Dr Brian Thursby was 12th and Gary Crossan 13th to complete the winning team.
Letterkenny won the team event ahead of Raheny. Meanwhile, Mark English has won another top race.
He competed on Saturday in the New Balance Invitational in New York over 800m and he dominated from the start to win in 1:49.49 minutes.
English is still a junior and is in the US as part of a DCU team who will be competing in the prestigious Millrose Games next week.
Meanwhile, congratulations to Darren McBrearty who has been crowned Irish Universities Champion over 1,500 metres.
