DONEGAL will feel the cold blast of winter later this week, Met Eireann said today.
Temperatures could hit up to 10C in some parts tomorrow – but then it will be all downhill from there!
A weather front from continental Europe will draw in cold Siberian air over much of Ireland and Britain by midweek with night time temperatures as low as -5C.
Said a Met spokesman: “On Tuesday it will be a very cold with lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees and a sharp frost and icy patches developing. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will each be very cold a largely dry days with sunny spells.
“Temperatures will only range from 3 to 6 degrees by day and will fall as low as -5 degrees in places at night. Winds will be mostly light to moderate and east to southeast in direction. Current indication suggest that next weekend will continue very cold with a risk of wintry showers.”
