Gartan Technologies, based in Letterkenny, specialises in staff availability and payroll software solutions.
Gartan currently employs 14 people at their offices in the Enterprise Business Centre.
While most of Gartan’s customers are in the UK and Ireland, it is currently expanding into North America and other markets.
This award signals another achievement for a company that has completely bucked the economic trend.
In 2011 turnover increased by 30% and the company has more than doubled its turnover and workforce in the last three years. Furthermore, in the last year alone, Gartan has added an additional 5 employees, including 3 to their Quality Assurance department.
“We’re beginning 2012 on a very sound footing,” says Malachi Eastwood, Managing Director, Gartan Technologies.
“Our new ISO status demonstrates our commitment to the high standard of solutions and support services we deliver. In the early days, the location and size of our business was an issue for some of our potential clients but the reality is that if you are providing quality products and services, organisations will put their faith in you.
“We’ve now built up a strong UK client base and have established very close working relationships with all our clients and I’m grateful to them for their support throughout the ISO process.”
“I’d especially like to thank the team at Gartan for their effort in achieving this award. We will continue to invest in quality management and look for new ways to deliver an outstanding service.”
Gartan Technologies produce a number of software solutions for a variety of sectors.
“Essentially we’re in the business of making it easier for organisations to record and monitor the availability of their part-time, on-call, and fulltime staff. Clients can see, 24 hours a day, the ‘real time’, availability of,for example, in the case of local & emergency services, their fire station personnel, social workers and even the teams responsible for gritting roads during the severe winter weather. The payroll module addresses the complex nature of calculating the associated monies due to the client’s staff.”
Gartan has continuously looked for ways to enhance their products and encourage clients to try their software.
Malachi explains, “In 2007 we adopted a licensing model. The client signs a 2, 3 or 5 year contract and pays an annual license fee for the use of the software. That provides us with financial stability and enables us to plan ahead with a high degree of certainty. From the clients’ point of view, they have the assurance that of working with a stable company which, in today’s volatile climate, is invaluable to them.”
Clients also like the fact that they can install our solutions on their existing infrastructure which effectively means there are no large upfront installation costs.“
“The success of the Gartan products is down to how easy and compatible the software is,” says Malachi, “The products are specialised user friendly solutions that are designed to interface with the client’s existing systems including, HR, Training and Payroll.“
Malachi adds, “The suite of Gartan products can be used independently or interdependently. Some clients have installed one product, whilst others use various combinations of two but the majority have installed all three.”
With over 16 years of experience in the software availability solutions Gartan is concentrating on developing new products to meet future demands and new markets, and has a number of new features in the pipeline for 2012. It will be a busy year.
In conclusion Mr. Eastwood says, “The nature of our business means we can’t rest on our laurels, we’ve always got to be mindful of what our clients and the market is looking for and to remain focused on customer service. The ISO 9001 award is a good start to 2012 and I’m looking forward to another innovative and productive year.”
