Players Meeting -There will be a meeting on Saturday, January 21st at 6.00pm for all players interested in playing Senior or Reserve football this year for Urris. Danny Kelly has agreed to take on the role of Senior manager for the coming season and he will be taking this opportunity to lay out his plans for the coming season. Danny will be assisted in his role by Martin Kelly and Michael Bradley.
Referee’s Course – The County Board will be running a Beginner’s Referee’s course in Jackson’s Hotel on Saturday, February 4th. The course gets underway at 9.30am and will run for most of the day.Anyone interested in taking up the whistle for the coming season can let either John Friel or David Hession know and their name will be put forward for the course. There is no cost to the participants and all their equipment is supplied upon qualification by the County Board.Qualified Referee’s are also reminded that there will be a refresher course in Jackson’s on Thursday, February 16th at 7.30pm.
Club Meeting -There will be a Club meeting on Wednesday, January 25th at 7.30pm. As usual all club members are encouraged to attend. New faces are more than welcome. Remember this is your club and decisions made at these meetings affect everyone involved with Urris.
Club Membership 2012 – Is now due for renewal Adults €20 Child (under 18) €3 all players must be registered before season begins, contact David Hession or John Friel.
Donegal Year Book – 2011 edition now available from the club at €15 contact John Friel.
Foundation Coaching Course:- The Inishowen Board are looking for names of people interested in doing a Foundation coaching course in the early part of 2012.The course is usually run over two sessions which includes one evening and a full day session. Child protection is also included as part of the course and is a prerequisite to qualify overall.Any one intending to help with coaching teams for the club in 2012 should have this minimum level of proficiency.Anyone interested in doing the course should contact John Friel 0860523550 or David Hession 0860538537 as soon as possible.
