REPORT: KENNETH McDONAGH, DONEGAL FACEBOOK WEATHER CHANNEL
For next week Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday will be mild with much colder, wetter, breezier weather returning on Thursday evening and there is a risk of wintry precipitation, especially on high ground, and widespread sharp ground frost or icy patches developing overnight.
For next weekend winds will turn and come from the north bringing colder polar air with over night sharp frost and at the moment it looks like sleet and snow for higher and lower ground.
I will keep a good watch and will know for sure by the start of next week how bad things will get.
There will be frost overnight on Saturday and Sunday this weekend but the mild air will return early next week with temperatures predicted to rise to 12C by midweek before the polar air kicks in.
