Annual General Meeting
A large turnout is expected on Friday night 13th January for The Portsalon Golf Clubs AGM which will take place in the Clubhouse at 8 p.m sharp. In preparation for the meeting notices have been displayed on the notice board regarding available council positions. If you want to serve as a council member please ensure that your name is included on the list. The club’s accounts are also available at the clubhouse for collection.
Results
The winner of the open staged on Saturday 8th was Eamon McDermott (4)39 points
Rubber Up: Donal Callaghan (14)38 points B.O.T Gross: Conor Connolly (4)33 points
3rd: Paddy Sheridan (9) 38 points CSS 34 Points. On Sunday the winner of the members competition was Hugh Doherty (19) 41 points, runner up Eamon Mc Dermott (3) 39 points, gross Stephen Connolly (5) 34 points 3rd Hugh Mc Ginley (21) 39 points. The CSS was 36 points.
Events
On Saturday 14th January the Portsaon Winter Links competition resumes and all members asked to adhere to their tee times. On Sunday 15th there is a members competition. On Wednesday 18th there is an open gents competition.
Paul Mc Ginley Course Development
During last week Paul Mc Ginley and his Golf Co-Ordinator Joe Bedford visited Portsalon golf club. This was a planned meeting for Paul to review changes carried out over the past few months. Paul was pleased with the changes carried out. Paul is pictured with Joe and Portsalon Golf Club captain Donal Callaghan.
Sympathy
The Captain Donal Callaghan and members of Portsalon Golf Club were saddened to learn of the death of Anna O’Shea. May she rest in peace.
Change to Drop Off arrangements
Members and visitors should note that you must drop off the fairways 2,7 and 9 at the nearest point of relief as this has now been designated ground under repair. Under a local rule all golf balls in the areas identified must be lifted and dropped without penalty. It is no longer permitted to use the putter inside the areas identified.
All members are kindly asked to keep all pull trolleys, electric trolleys and drive buggies outside the lines surrounding the putting greens. This is try to protect the main playing surfaces as much as possible over the next few weeks..
Hole In One
Congratulations to Letterkenny’s Brendan Roache had a hole in one at the par 3 15th hole on Saturday last.
Placing
All members and visitors should note that six inch placing on all fairways only is in operation at Portsalon Golf Club.

Divot Bags
Members and visitors please note that divot bags are now available on entry to the first tee box. Please ensure that you pick up a bag and assist with the course maintenance
