All Outpatient Clinics at Letterkenny General Hospital have been canceled this morning.
It follows what has been described as unprecedented numbers attending A&E overnight.
A total of twelve people are now on make-shift trolleys in the outpatient department as the 20 bed overflow ward is full. Seven other patients are also on trolleys in casualty.
As a result of the situation, the medical clinics of Dr Swinson, Dr Constatine, Dr Abraham, Dr McKenna and Dr Keating have been cancelled.
Patients due to attend clinics will be notified of any changes to their appointments.
People are now being urged not to attend A&E unless it’s an emergency.
