Crafts designed and carved by entrepreneurial students were presented to the Polish Ambassador to Ireland, Marcin Nawrot and the Polish Consul, Piotr Apostolidis on behalf of the students by Errigal college P.E. teacher Robert Fabisiak.
One of the gifts was a beautifully carved pen made from Irish yew and set in a natural yew branch presentation case made in the school woodwork class with guidance from teacher Bernard Doherty.
The second gift was an intricate piece of stained glass designed by transition year students involved in the Classy Glassy Crafts, a Start Your Own Business initiative co-ordinated by teachers Margaret Russell Kelly and Danny McFadden. The class includes four Polish students.
Mr Fabisiak told donegaldaily.com that he was honoured to have made the presentations.
Mr Fabisiak has taught at the College for seven years and is also director of Letterkenny’s Polish School which is based at Errigal College and runs every Sunday.
