MET Eireann has issued another ice alert for the county’s roads this morning.
But if the forecaster is correct, we might not see another one for at least another eight days.
The organisation says a westerly front will take polar air away from the country, leading to much milder weather right through until Christmas.
Today however there are serious warnings about our roads once again.
The main Letterkenny/Derry Road between Manor and Newtown was described as “outrageous” by several motorists who contacted donegaldaily.com last night.
“For a major route like that to be so treacherous was incredible,” said one. “It was really really dangerous.”
Caution is urged on all roads this morning until milder weather arrives later today.
