Gardai are again warning motorists to take care this morning as many roads are covered in ice again today after overnight rain, hail and snow showers were frozen rock solid by sub-zero temperatures.
Overnight temperatures in many areas dropped to a chilly -3C overnight in some inland areas, making driving hazardous.
Footpaths in and around towns in the county are also very slippy.
Most major routes have been gritted, but rural and secondary roads are dangerous in places.
Weather forecasters say we could see gales and wintry showers again tomorrow.
Meanwhile lightning storms hit Inishowen for the third night running – with dazzling electrical storms over Moville.
