TOP IRELAND rugby star Sean O’Brien spent the weekend in Co Donegal – to get away from the new hype surrounding him.
The classy back row Tullow Tank has a fearsome reputation.
But when he had dinner las night at the Yellow Pepper restaurant in Letterkenny he was a complete gentleman…and then some.
Said Sean to one diner: “It’s great to be in Donegal. It’s my favourite place on earth and no-one bothers you. It’s nice to have a great meal and chill out.”
O’Brien was a star of the Ireland’s World cup bid.
He started against Australia, Russia, Italy and Wales during Ireland’s World Cup campaign, scoring a try against Russia and winning the Man-of-the-Match award against Italy.
The Carlow native and Leinster player is one day tipped to captain Ireland.
Said a diner at the Yellow Pepper: “He was lovely. No airs or graces; just a nice down to earth fella…I wish more of our stars were like him.”
