Liverpool and Ireland legend Ronnie Whelan is to be the guest of honour at Finn Harps’ end of season night, taking place in the Finn Valley Centre, Stranorlar on Saturday 3rd December.
Dublin-born Whelan, who made over 360 League appearances for the Merseysiders, collected winners Medals for no fewer than six League Championships, Two FA Cups, 3 League Cups and one European Cup during his career at Anfield.
The current RTE pundit also enjoyed a distinguished International career playing 53 times for his Country, and is fondly remembered for scoring a spectacular equaliser against the USSR in the 1988 Euro Championships.
Finn Harps Chairman Joey O’Leary has no doubt that Whelan will receive a warm welcome.
“It will give us great pleasure to welcome Ronnie to Donegal. He was an inspirational figure for both Ireland and Liverpool and everyone is looking forward to hearing his thoughts on both Club and International Football.”
Also taking place during the evening will be the Clubs annual Monster draw where one lucky winner will receive €5000 in cash!
This will be followed by the presentation of the Finn Harps Player and Young Player of the Year awards.
