DONEGAL soccer star Seamus Coleman has emerged as a shock €10M target for Liverpool, reports in England said this morning.
Kenny Dalglish is lining up an audacious January move for the Killybegs youngster.
Coleman was bought for £60,000 from Sligo Rovers in 2008. However, the versatile right-sided player could command more than £8m in the transfer window.
He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Everton last January, and is understood be on a contract in the region of £25,000 a week.
Liverpool have the financial clout to make a move for his services, though, and Coleman fits the bill of young, home-grown talent from this part of the world that Dalglish is looking to recruit.
Everton’s Belgian midfielder Fellaiini signed a new deal with the club yesterday, and urged his employers to make sure they keep hold of young talent like Coleman.
The Irishman was so impressive last season that he was voted onto the PFA Young Player of the Year shortlist by his peers. Injury halted his start to this campaign, but he has shown glimpses of his previous form, although he is yet to fully break into Giovanni Traattoni.
