But we will have to put up with some rain between now and Saturday when clearer brighter weather arrives in the county.
Heavy showers and strong winds of up to 90km/hr are expected later today but the worst of the weather will be in the south of the country (for a change).
Temperatures will be slightly above normal on Friday and over the weekend, with 10 to 14 C – up to 3 degrees C higher than normal.
There will be heavy rain at times tomorrow, Friday, with the possibility of flooding in some areas, say all the TV channels.
And there will be more rain to begin with on Saturday but this will lift and Saturday afternoon should be bright and sunny.
With no cloud cover, we could see a ground frost overnight on Saturday – and Sunday should be glorious…a perfect autumn day.
The good news is all the forecasters on BBC, RTE and Sky are predicting that the mild weather will continue.
