JUDGE HANGS UP ON MOBILE USERS AFTER EIGHT INTERRUPTIONS

November 17, 2011

A Donegal judge was forced to issue a warning after his court was interrupted EIGHT times by mobile phones today.

Judge Paul Kelly was forced to tell people to turn off their phones or leave the courtroom following the interruptions at Letterkenny District Court.

People attending the courtroom had been warned at the start of the sitting to turn off their phones by the court clerk.

One man eventually had his phone taken off him by Gardai.

However the mood was lightened somewhat when another phone went off – and the offending owner turned out to be a Garda!
