CONWAL AND LECK PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL :
During January and February this year, we invited Parishioners to suggest names of people for a Parish Pastoral Council. This began the process that would help good planning and the effective running of our Parish.
The Parish Pastoral Council is there to listen to what parishioners identify as the needs of the parish as a Catholic community, to reflect on them, to try and help all people make progress in loving God and neighbour as Christ invites us.
In late February all the people who were nominated were invited to a meeting at which the following were elected as our Pastoral Council: Emma McGrath, Carmel Maguire, Rosie Houston, Siobhan Faherty, Deirdre Duffy, Margaret McNulty, Padraig Duggan, Sr. Marian Larkin, Delene Van De Heuvel.
These along with the Priests of the Parish are to serve for three years. Since then the Council has undergone training and were challenged to reflect deeply on what they are being asked to do. The vision statement reads: The Parish Pastoral Council is a leadership group through which priests and people work together as partners, reaching out in service and welcome to all – bringing the good news of Jesus Christ in order to help develop a vibrant Catholic community.
The Parish Pastoral Council can be contacted through the Parochial House. The Council will be commissioned during 11.15 am Mass on Sunday 4th December. ADORATION RENEWAL Next weekend at all Masses, we will be joined by a guest Speaker promoting ‘ADORATION RENEWAL’ in our Parish. Many people in our Parish and in our neighbouring Parish commit to a regular weekly hour in St. Pius X Adoration Chapel. We encourage any individual to come and adore JESUS truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.
If you cannot commit to one hour, please feel free to call in for whatever length of time that suits you. Parish Notice-board Phone: 074 – 9121021 Fax: 074 – 9124200 Email: steunanscathedral@eircom.net
