Brothers Ronan and Conor Mc Garvey are the well-known as the owners of Donegal Pens.
The Loughanure brothers met up with entrepreneur Gallagher at the Helix in Dublin yesterday at the RTE Radio presidential debate.
Gallagher has been supportive of the Loughanure boys since they set up their enterprise over two years ago and has been in contact with them on several occasions.
The boys were invited to meet the ‘Dragon’ and his wife Trish at the gig in Dublin on Saturday morning where the presidential hopeful gave them a commitment that he’d sign into Aras an Uachtarán using a Donegal pen if elected next Thursday.
The brothers presented him with a bog oak pen made from wood from bog land at Inver, South Donegal.
Mr Gallagher told the boys that he will pay a visit to their shed in the back garden at the earliest convenience, indicating that a presidential visit could be on the cards for the Gaeltacht village!
Conor Mc Garvey, the youngest of the brothers, said the were delighted with Mr Gallagher’s recaction.
“We have our pens all over the world. They are in the Dáil and now there’s one on its way to Aras an Uachtarán – we hope. Sean was very nice and delighted that the pens are doing so well for us.”
