Congratulations to the Minor Boys Footballers on winning the Co. Final with a superb display against Ardara in Donegal Town on Sunday. They created history by completing a Football and Hurling Minor double, with many players picking up both medals. Congratulations too to Noel Keaveny and Barry Meehan who put so much into their preparations for the Minors this year. They will both now go on to represent Donegal in Ulster. The Minor hurlers are in action this Sunday (Oct. 23rd) against Dungannon in Ballinascreen with a 1pm throw-in in their first round Ulster clash.
The Seniors and Reserves had no game last week. The Seniors are free once again this week while the Reserves travel to Dungloe in the League on Sunday (23rd) with a 3pm throw-in.
The Juniors suffered a home defeat to Naomh Conaill in the league on Saturday evening and will need to improve as they take on holders, MacCumhaills this Saturday at 5pm in their Championship quarter-final with the venue to be confirmed.
This Sunday is the last Sunday Morning U-10 Football Academy for 2011. The Presentation takes place in the Mt. Errigal on Tuesday, November 1st from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Tickets are €6 and are available at the door on the night. Please let your Coaches know on Sunday if you will attend and how many of your family will be there. This is during the school mid-term.
There will be a Table Quiz in Arena 7 on Thursday week (Oct. 27th) run by the Minor Board Hurlers. Please come out and support their efforts.
There is a Hurling meeting Monday 24th at 7pm in the Clubhouse. It will be followed by a County Camogie Board meeting 8pm. The Friday Hurling & Camogie Academies have finished for this season. The indoor training will commence after a short break.
Anyone that is hoping to have something included in the Co. Yearbook needs to have their submission with Paul McGovern by this Friday (Oct. 21st).
