BUNDORAN Town Council has voted to exclude a member of the public unless she agrees to abide by the rules there.
The Mayor Michael Mcmahon says the council is “not in the business of excluding members of the public from council meetings.”
However it follows a decision which was taken by Bundoran councillors yesterday to enforce the standing orders in relation to appropriate behaviour at Town Council meetings.
The decision was taken following legal advice which required a member of the public to act in accordance with standing orders and to agree to do so in writing to Bundoran Town Council. However, the person in question didn’t do so.
Councillor McMahon said the person in question can submit an agreement to comply with the standing orders and if she does so, she will be allowed to attend meetings.
