PRESIDENT Mary McAleese is visiting Co Donegal today – just 24 hours after missing American tourist Kelly Jones was found in the village where the president spends her summer holidays.
Mrs McAleese is a regular visitor to Glencolmcille where she loves to brush up on her gaeilge.
Today however she will meet staff and students at Letterkenny IT as part of the campus 40th birthday celebrations.
Then she will visit Killybegs where she will meet local representatives.
In the fishing village she will also meet one of the volunteers in the search for Kelly Jones.
Patrick McBrearty, from the Sliabh Liag Hill Walkers, will present the President with his book which will be special to her.
His tome – Bridging the Ages – chronicles the roads and bridges in and around Glencolmcille and Kilcar.
