Daniel O’Donnell had Hollywood legend Maureen O’Hara in tears when he serenaded her with a touching version of the Isle of Inishfree.
The Kincasslagh star, 49, was one of a number of guests who travelled to Cong in Co Mayo yesterday for the 60th anniversary of the blockbuster The Quiet Man.
The festival to mark the occasion will take place the entire weekend.
There will be a variety of events held including a meet and greet between Maureen O’Hara and a number of the surviving members of the village who played extras in the film which also starred John Wayne.
Daniel said he was delighted to sing for Maureen and admitted he was a huge fan of the film.
“Who is not a fan of The Quiet Man and Maureen O’Hara. I really enjoyed singing for her and I hope she enjoyed it too.
“I had a wonderful time. She is a real lady and simply a living legend,” he said.
