All-Ireland winner Martin McHugh has shocked thousands of Donegal GAA fans by tipping Dublin to beat Donegal at Croke Park next Sunday.
The well-known pundit was asked to give a one-word answer on who would march on and meet Kerry in the All-Ireland Final during last night’s Sunday Game on RTE One.
And the Kilcar GAA analyst agreed with fellow commentators Kevin McStay and Jason Sherlock when asked the magic question by RTE’s Des Cahill.
McHugh who also tipped Kildare to be too strong in the quarter final against Jim McGuinness’s side.
The commentator, who played a huge part in Donegal’s All-Ireland victory in 1992 and whose son Mark plays for the team, didn’t give any reasons for his choice.
But the decision will shock thousands of fans across the county who are preparing to get behind their side with less than a week to go before the county’s biggest game for years.
Jim McGuinness and his side will remain unaffected by McHugh’s surprising choice – instead preferring to remain focussed on Sunday’s game.
The panel spent the weekend in Redcastle building team morale and discussing tactics ahead of the sold-out encounter.
