MORE than 115 runners took part in the Ballyare 10k in glorious Donegal sunshine this evening.
Locals lined the route to cheer on the runners – and the dozens more taking part in a fun walk/run earlier.
There was a great atmosphere at one of Donegal’s finest historical pubs ‘Carrs of the Diamond’ where tea, sandwiches and cakes were laid on for runners and spectators; and of course the odd fine ale for those who wanted one.
Pauric McKinney won the race in just over 34 minutes; about the time it would take the odd donegaldaily.com staffer to drive the same route, which wound its way around the fair byways and highways of Ballyare.
We hope to have all the results on donegaldaily.com later. Our video shows all the runners just 100 metres after the start of the race as it hit the Ards road to Ramelton.
