The Reserves recorded a good win over Na Rossa in the Junior B championship playoff on Saturday evening last in Cloughaneely. In the 0.14 to 0.3 victory Gaels had great performances from Shane Gildea, Anthony McDaid and Dean Creevy while upfront the youthful forwards of McBrearty and McMacken paid dividents. A Special thanks to the hosts Cloughaneely for their excellent pitch preparations on the day. They now advance to play Malin in the next round. Our Seniors travelled to Moville in the League on Sunday.We matched them in the first half but faded in the closing quarter as the home side ran out winners.We had excellent performances from Ciaran and Oisín Cannon, Aron Bradley Pauric Mulpeter and Aron Stewart. The Minors played St Michaels in the preliminary round of the championship on Friday evening last and came away from the Bridge with a confidence boosting victory. Gaels had solid performances from Dara Coll, Peter Doherty,Cillian Skinnader, John Doran and Oisín Mc Elhinney while inside forwards Conor McBrearty and Odhran McMacken were always a threat. The return leg will be played at Páirc na nGael this Friday evening. Throw Inn at 7.30pm.
The U14s are due to play Termon in a league playoff on Wednesday 27th July. They play Movillle in the championship in Páirc na nGael on Wednesday the 10th August.
Our U10 gaelic teams hosted Termon last Saturday. Our two teams played competitive matches and displayed great skills and scores. All the boys and girls tried their best and played in a sporting manner – thanks to the young whistlers, coaches and parents who all helped out on the day. Congratulations to Shay Doherty, Cathair Doherty, Peter O’Donnell, Brian Diver and Joseph Doherty who represented Donegal in the hurling and gaelic games in Croke Park recently. The boys all enjoyed the day out and the opportunity to play on the big stage.
The U10 hurlers took part in a hurling blitz in Ballyshannon. The boys and girls played with great spirit and determination winning three of their five matches. Thanks to Aodh Rua and to coaches and parents who travelled with the team.
U12 hurlers travelled to Four Masters in the league and came away with a convincing win. Thanks to Four Masters for their refreshments on the evening. Next match is Strabane Shamrocks in Pairc na Gaeil, Thursday 7pm. This was also a first outing for Gaels camogie team who played a challenge against Four Masters. Thanks again to Four Masters for arranging the match. Camogie training on Tuesday 6.30pm.
