Letterkenny Town Council has made a plan for the forthcoming winter – and it’s snow joke!
We may still be waiting summer to arrive but the town council has already formulated a plan to cope with a repeat of last year’s arctic conditions.
The plan includes more snow ploughing plant including possibly two snow ploughs for the town.
Also machinery normally used for cutting grass will be fitted with specialist snow-clearing equipment.
There will be at least 100 salt bunkers located across the town with grit also made available throughout any bad periods.
Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh had asked the council for the latest update on their plans to tackle any cold snap.
He was told existing plans as well as the new proposed measures should leave Letterkenny as well-prepared as any other town in the country for any cold snap.
