Hurling & Camogie Training for National School Children
Extended training by Kevin Hinphey, Yvonne Burns and others for national school children from first to fifth class will take place at the Scarvey from 11am until 2pm on Tue/Wed/Thurs – 19th/20th & 21st of July. Under 12 Hurling
The u12 Hurlers had to play two matches on Thursday due to a fixture mix up. First they faced a good Carn side, running out convincing winners on a scoreline of 5:11 to 2:0. The scoreline didn’t reflect the match, but the Scarvey boys proved too strong in the end with Ben Doherty(Roe), PJ McCarron and Captain Dylan Duffy leading the way. After a quick break they played MacCumhaill’s and backed up the early result with a big win against a strong Ballybofey outfit. This proved to be a more physical match but our lads produced some of their best hurling to date and notched up a big score, with Ben, Dylan, PJ, Paul Tourish and the hard working Oisin Grant. These boys are developing into a good squad and eight of them graced headquarters in Croke Park on Monday when they represented Donegal. Dylan, PJ, Ben, Paul, Oisin, Fiachra MacLochlainn, Oisin Hegarty and keeper Jason Campbell, the largest group from any Donegal Hurling club. Thank you to Adrian Deery who started his fledgling refereeing career.
