Senior Football
The senior football team had a good one point victory over St Naul’s at the Scarvey on Saturday afternoon. The final score was Buncrana 0-16 St Naul’s 0-15. Going in at half time the sides were separated by two points with the Mountcharles side in the ascendancy. The second half was a cagey affair with the Scarvey lads making up a three point defecit in the closing stages to hold out for an excellent one point victory. The highlight was the return of Christy McDermott to a more potent looking attack and also a first start for full back stalwart and recently married John Doherty to full back and its great to see these lads back in the fold. It was a great win for the senior against the team second in the table and and with a big push for the second half of the season the boys are well placed for a big challenge. Odhran Doherty gave an exceptional display of score taking from the midfield in a man of the match display ably assisted by Christy Bell and Oisin Doherty with Caolan McCann as reliable as usual in centre back.
However the reserves were beaten on a scoreline of 1-13 to 4-14. The lads were caught with some poor goals in the first half but put in a great second half effort with excellent scores from Liam McGinley, Sean Doherty and goal getter Gareth Porter. James Wallace and Kevin Doherty in goals put in excellent performances as did Ciaran Hegarty in corner back.

Under 12 Hurling
The u12 hurlers continued their good start to the league against a very young Setanta side, in Killygordon on Thursday night. Played in wet conditions it was some of the younger players who caught the eye especially Gavin Kelly and Mark Craig as they ran out convincing winners. Next up is a home trip against a good Carn side. All players are to be at the Scarvey for 5.45pm, (note time change).
Under 16 Hurling
Our u16 hurlers recorded back to back wins against Setanta and St Eunans in the league, next up is MacCumhaills, date and time have not been set yet for this fixture (provisionally fixed at home on Thursday). Stevie will pass on word during the week. It’s great to see 20+ players available for selection and bodes well for the future.

Its a great boost to these lads who have put in a great effort in both hurling and football since the turn of the year and congratulations to David McConnell, Tom Clare and David Henry and the squad.
Under 12 Football
Perfect playing condition’s greeted the u12 footballers in their final home game against Burt in the Inishowen “Go games” league, with the Scarvey boys playing some great football and slightly edging it in the end. This was a great advertisement for the Go games format with over fifty children getting a chance to participate. This was Buncrana’s last game in this format, the finals day is due to take place on 22nd and 23rd of July. Manager Leo Gill and his assistants Finn Hegarty and Gary Craig would like to invite all the players parents to come along to the finals day to see for themselves the progress this squad have made, the skill level at this age is high as is with all the Inishowen teams, and the final’s day promises to produce some great matches.
