CRAZED boy racers are out speeding tonight on parts of the Donegal International Rally Route.
There have been a number of reports in the past hour of speeding cars in and around Illistrin and Ballyare.
One resident reported seeing two cars – racing side by side – near the old Illistrin school.
“It’s the same every year and it sickens me,” one resident said a short time ago.
“I don’t care what people say, the rally will be copied by young boys who think they can drive crazy for the few weeks before and after the rally.”
The madness of the boy racers tonight comes despite road safety appeals led by local racer Toni Kelly.
She has helped to spearhead a campaign highlighting road safety.
The rally attracts thousands of people to the county.
But it does have its critics – many who believe road rally races should be banned.
