We can expect long periods of sunshine throughout the day, say forecasters.
However showers will return later tonight and continue off and on for the rest of the week.
The good news is that temperatures will be higher than last week with highs of around 16C and overnight lows of around 8C.
And there is some hope (though accuracy at this stage can be hard) that next week will see a warmer spell return.
Peter O’Donnell of Irish Weather Online says of this weekend: “Slightly cooler again, not as grim as last week hopefully, but with showers at times. Highs around 15 C. This spell should ease during the following week which could turn quite warm eventually.”
