So where is our heatwave? That’s the question on everybody’s lips today.
Well forecasters insisted today it is on its way….just a little bit later than first thought.
Tomorrow and Friday are looking like the better days of the bank holiday weekend.
And it won’t last as long unfortunately – though after the recent weather, three days of heat and sunshine will be welcome!
One of the best forecasters is Irish Weather Online which is reporting that tomorrow – except for some low cloud or fog near outer coasts – “there will be warm sunshine in many places. Maximum daytime temperatures 21-24 C away from cooling sea breezes that will be generally quite weak, although capable of dropping temperatures to about 15-17 C.”
For Friday it is reporting: “Little change. Sunshine, light winds and quite warm away from the east coast where a slight east wind will set in. Highs 21-24 C, except 15-17 C near the east and north coast, as well as the outer south coast.”
And on Saturday it will be “turning cooler in Ulster, and possibly north Leinster, due to a weak “back-door” cold front from the northeast.”
There may be some return to sunshine again next Tuesday or Wednesday, but a prolonged summer heatwave may be two to three weeks away.
