The senior footballers beat Carn on Saturday last, 0-11 to 0-8. In a game Buncrana never looked like losing Simon McGrory, Stephen McGonigle, Caolan McCann, Calvin Jones and Christy Bell put in good performances. An understrength reserve team were beaten by a strong Carn Team. The footballers will not have a game this weekend.
PJ McCarron(Snr) has organised a golf classic in the Northwest Golf Club on Saturday 4th of June to raise much needed funds. A time sheet is in operation, contact 074 936 1715 for details. With prize’s
totaling €2,500 it promises to be a good day out, all support is welcome and a special plea to all GAA clubs to enter a team as there is prize for the best team. Presentation will take place in the Northwest at 9pm with music by Mickey and Charlie.
The u14 Girls travelled to Carndonagh on Tuesday last, the game was played in far from ideal conditions which effected the flow of the game. The Carn girls started the stronger and built up a commanding lead, a
welcome break at halftime gave the girls and management a chance to regroup and reorganise. From the throw in the girls all battled hard throughout the field and managed to hold their opponents scoreless and
if they had been a little less wasteful in front of goal they could have overhauled the Carn score. The improvement in this squad is remarkable and particular praise on the day must go to the skillful
and hardworking, Sarah Barnett and Leah Ryan.
Our u12 Girls were on their travels when they went to Urris for an Inishowen blitz on Saturday, we fielded two teams, Green and Gold in this Go Games blitz, although the games are played in a non-competitive
manner it was great to see all the girls able to compete on a par with all the clubs at this age group and excel in their games as well. This is testament to the hard work being put in by the managers and players
who are beginning to see their labour start to bare fruit. Thanks to the Urris club for organising this well attended blitz and we hope to return the favour this Saturday when we will host the next blitz. A
special plea is made to all parents to come along and support the girls in their early football careers.
The u14 Hurlers have qualified for the league final this Thursday night, when they face rivals Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon. Although the boys go into the game as favourites, they will be under no illusions
of the task in hand. All support welcome and hopefully they will add the league to the already won Donegal and Ulster feile titles. Best of luck to all. This squad are nearing the end of their fundraising drive
to raise much needed funds for the upcoming trip to Galway to take part in the Feile na Gael competition, this squad and management would like to pay tribute to all the companies and individuals who
contributed in any way, we as a club know that these are tight financial times, but it is heart warming to see the response we have received, a big thank you to all the parents who sold line’s, collected and got pen pic’s and to the players for their efforts with the sponsored walk, they can now all look forward to 23rd of June and
hopefully the boys will have an enjoyable and hopefully successful trip to the west and do the town and county proud.
Our u12 hurlers were in Malin on Sunday afternoon, playing three matches and convincingly winning all in impressive fashion, the boys stick work was sharp and crisp and all the squad got a run out and
enjoyed a well run blitz, thanks to the Malin club for refreshments for the teams and supporters.
Congratulations to PJ McCarron, David Doherty and Patrick Wilson who competed in the Donegal U14 Skills competition in Letterkenny on Sunday last. Although no trophies were won, all three can be proud of
their achievements and they are all underage for this competition again next year.
